Museo del Automóvil y la Moda (Car and Fashion Museum)

It’s difficult to find anything like the Museo del Automóvil y la Moda (Malaga Automobile and Fashion Museum).
This extraordinary private collection spans 6,000 square metres of exhibition space and showcases almost 100 beautifully restored, exclusive vehicles.
Some of these classic cars date back to the 19th century and feature luxurious details such as ostrich and mink fur upholstery, precious wood finishes, and accessories crafted from ivory and silver.
The museum displays an impressive range of motors from iconic manufacturers including Mercedes, Hispano Suiza, Bugatti, Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Ferrari. Many of these vehicles feature unique custom-built engines that you won’t see anywhere else.
Fashion and art collections at the Malaga car museum
In addition to the vehicles, there are more than 200 fashion items and contemporary art installations that showcase the evolution of haute couture throughout the 20th century.

The museum also features contemporary art installations that complement the automotive and fashion exhibitions, creating a fascinating dialogue among art forms spanning the decades.
Inside La Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory
The Malaga Car and Fashion Museum is located in the magnificent La Tabacalera building complex, which once served as the city’s old tobacco factory. This industrial heritage site adds character and historical significance to your museum visit.
Today, the compound shares space with the Russian Museum and the city’s Digital Content Hub, making it a thriving cultural centre in the city.

An opportunity to explore western Malaga
You’ll find the Museo del Automóvil y la Moda in the Carretera de Cádiz neighbourhood, which is a popular area to stay in for those visiting with children.
The western part of the city is easily accessible from Malaga city centre by bus. Alternatively, you can enjoy a pleasant walk along Misericordia beach.
If you choose the coastal route, take time to stop at one of the many chiringuitos that line the promenade. These traditional beach bars serve fresh seafood and cold drinks with sea views.
The large and lively Parque del Oeste is nearby, too, and features a mini-zoo, making it perfect for young families. This green space offers a pleasant contrast to the urban museum experience.
Visiting the Malaga car museum
The museum welcomes visitors throughout the year, though opening hours can vary. You can check the current opening times on the official museum website before your visit.
Whether you’re a classic car enthusiast, fashion lover, or simply looking for unique things to do in Malaga, this museum offers something special. The combination of automotive history, Andalusian industrial heritage and artistic expression creates a memorable cultural experience in southern Spain.
