Marenostrum Fuengirola

Night concert at Marenostrum Fuengirola with a large crowd gathered in front of the stage by the sea.

Located around 30 kilometres west of Malaga, Marenostrum Fuengirola has quickly become one of Spain’s most iconic open-air music venues since its founding in 2016.

Nestled next to the impressive Moorish Sohail Castle, this venue combines breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea with a rich sense of history, making it a truly unique setting for live music. The castle itself dates back to the 10th century, and the juxtaposition of its ancient walls against the modern stage design creates an extraordinary backdrop for concerts.

Over the years, Marenostrum Fuengirola has hosted an array of international music legends. From Lionel Richie, Bonnie Tyler and Jennifer Lopez to Bob Dylan, Santana and Ricky Martin, its stages have welcomed some of the most renowned names in pop, rock, flamenco and classical music.

This blend of star-studded line-ups and its striking location has helped it cement its reputation as one of the most exciting live music venues in Europe.

Marenostrum Fuengirola 2026

The 2026 edition of Marenostrum Fuengirola will take place from 25 April to 12 September with an extraordinary line-up, featuring a diverse array of genres.

Lineup highlights include Lola Índigo, Gipsy Kings, Sting, Alejandro Sanz, La Oreja de Van Gogh and Pablo Alborán, alongside a rich selection of flamenco performances.

The festival will be spread across two main stages: the large Escenario Unicaja Banco outside Sohail Castle, and the more intimate Escenario Fundación Unicaja within the castle walls.

With seating options ranging from general admission to VIP boxes, Marenostrum Fuengirola offers a fantastic summer concert experience for music lovers of all tastes.

How to get to Fuengirola from Malaga

As the final stop on the Cercanías train line from Malaga, Fuengirola is conveniently reachable within approximately 50 minutes.

That said, when travelling to Marenostrum, be aware that many concerts finish after the last train to Malaga departs.

Conversely, it’s even quicker to drive to Fuengirola, with the journey taking less than half an hour outside of peak travel time. There are several parking options for those arriving by car.

Alternatively, if you’d rather focus on enjoying the show (and the bars!), it might be best to search for a night’s accommodation in Fuengirola.
