Standard Coffee & Vinyls Club
Tucked away on Plaza de la Aurora, Standard Coffee & Vinyls Club serves up two major staples: proper coffee and old-school music.
The coffee experience
Their house blend comes courtesy of Pascucci, delivering an intense yet sweet cup that’s rich in aromatic nuances and properly creamy.
However, true coffee aficionados should try their specialty Mama Afrika blend—a carefully crafted mix of Arabica beans from Burundi and Ethiopia, the very birthplace of coffee itself.
Young Spaniards take their coffee seriously, and Standard delivers the goods whether you fancy a cortado (espresso with warm milk) or a café con leche (Spain’s answer to a flat white).
Food and atmosphere
The menu reads like a greatest hits of Spanish and South American comfort food, featuring proper tortilla española (Spanish potato omelette) and Argentinian empanadas, with varieties ranging from classic beef to Roquefort and sweet onion.
Tapas culture also thrives here with jamón ibérico (Spain’s premium cured ham) and tequeños (crispy cheese sticks) available to nibble on.
The interior blends vintage charm with modern comfort, while the outdoor terrace takes over a charming shaded square next to the river, a perfect respite from the summer sun.
