Heladería Cremades

For those craving something sweet after a seaside stroll in Pedregalejo, Heladería Cremades is a must-visit.
This family-run ice cream parlour has been delighting locals and visitors alike for more than four decades, with a reputation for high-quality, handmade ice creams prepared using traditional methods.
A family legacy of ice cream making
The history of Cremades stretches back to the 1970s, when the family first opened a shop in the Cruz del Molinillo neighbourhood of Malaga.
Their ice cream tradition, however, goes back even further, to the 1930s in Valencia, when their great-grandmother Timotea began making ice cream.
Today, siblings Paloma and Juan Luis Cremades continue the legacy at their two seaside locations: Calle Cenacheros 34 in Pedregalejo and Avenida Salvador Allende 256 in El Palo.
More than 30 flavours and seasonal specials
Boasting over 30 flavours, from classic vanilla and chocolate to crowd favourites like Kinder and nougat, Cremades offers something for every palate.
They are also known for creative seasonal varieties, such as their popular torrija ice cream at Easter.
The undisputed star, however, is their meringue milk ice cream, still made with the same recipe their father used decades ago – a nostalgic favourite that remains their signature flavour.
Alongside ice cream cones and tubs, the menu features sundaes, iced juices, cakes and other desserts, all available to eat in or take away. For those who prefer to enjoy their treat outdoors, plenty of benches line the Pedregalejo promenade, perfect for savouring ice cream while gazing out at the Mediterranean.
Recently refurbished with a new look
In March 2024, the Pedregalejo parlour reopened after a four-month refurbishment to mark its 40th anniversary.
The makeover preserved its traditional charm while adding a modern image, including a redesigned logo inspired by the neighbourhood.
The workshop was also expanded, with a glass-fronted section so customers can now watch the ice cream being made by hand with natural ingredients of the highest quality.
As owner Paloma Cremades told local newspaper Diario SUR: “The aim is to enhance the value of the product, to show how the ice creams and cakes are made in a traditional way.”
From preparing caramel from scratch for toasted cream to using 120 egg yolks for 20 litres of vanilla ice cream, every detail highlights their dedication to authenticity.
So whether you’re after a refreshing break on a hot day, a family treat after the beach, or simply want to experience one of Malaga’s most iconic ice cream parlours, Heladería Cremades offers a taste of tradition with a fresh new look – all while enjoying the unbeatable setting of the Malaga seafront.
