Cafetería Framil
Cafetería Framil stands as one of the few remaining traditional cafés in Malaga’s historic centre, serving locals and visitors since 1987.
Located on Calle Cisneros, this family-run establishment was founded by Miguel Criado and his wife Eulalia Claros, who named it after their three children: Francisco, Miguel and Lourdes.
The cafe has built a devoted following over nearly four decades, particularly renowned for its hearty traditional Andalusian breakfasts and exceptional churros – those beloved fried dough pastries typically enjoyed with hot chocolate.
Framil serves authentic tejeringos, the traditional artisanal-style churros that are a Malaga speciality, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking genuine local flavour.
Traditional Spanish fare and daily specials
Beyond breakfast, Cafetería Framil offers a popular menú del día (daily set menu), a Spanish tradition providing a complete meal at excellent value.
The menu also features classic Spanish sandwiches and a selection of tapas – those small plates that are fundamental to Andalusian dining culture.
Now run by the founder’s son Francis, who grew up in the business, Framil maintains its authentic character while serving the diverse mix of locals, students and tourists who frequent Malaga’s bustling historic quarter.
